A pair of small Australian hoop earrings with Water Dreaming charms in black, white and gold colours.
These sterling silver hoops have a little square charm threaded on them. The earrings are made by Lisa Engeman from Occulture who produces anodised aluminium and silver jewellery with licensed Aboriginal art.
This Water Dreaming painting is done by Julie Nangala Robertson and the site depicted in her painting is Mt Farewell in the Northern Territory. Here two rainmakers sang the rain, unleashing a giant storm that collided with another storm. A brown falcon carried the storm further west and across the country but when the storm eventually became too heavy for the falcon, it dropped the storm at Pirlinyarnu, creating a large lake. Whenever it rains today, hundreds of bush ducks still flock to Pirlinyarnu.
The silver hoops are 18mm and the squares 11mm.
