Desert Colours Australian earrings

Desert Colours Australian earrings

Wear a beautiful piece of Australian art.

The artist is Mary Anne Nampijinpa Michaels and her painting is inspired by a rock hole in Western Australia and the dreamtime story of a rainbow serpent which rose from the waterhole and ate everyone gathered around.

Mary Anne is part of the Warlukurlangu artists group and Lisa Engeman from the design company, Occulture, has obtained the licence to use Mary Anne’s paintings to showcase her art on contemporary jewellery.

Lisa uses a special technique of photo-anodising aluminium and then handcrafting and detailing the earrings with sterling silver and the result is a vibrant pair of truly Australian silver earrings.

The earrings are 11mm wide and from the top of the earwire they are 60mm long.

You can view more Australian jewellery from Occulture and matching cuff and pendant here.
