Malalo pearl drop earrings

Gorgeous little Malalo pearl drop earrings.

The earrings have a teardrop freshwater pearl capped with a handwoven natural fibre disc and a small pearl.

The earrings are handmade by artisans in Papua New Guinea. The little puffed fibre discs are made with a traditional bilum weaving technique which is a knotless weave using a single needle. The fibre itself is made from local plants, dried in the sun, pulled and rolled into a continuous string.

As each pearl is unique and each fibre disc is handmade, each pair of earrings may have slight variations to the image. The earrings are aprox. 35mm long.
