A short pearl necklace with reminiscence of sand and salty air.
There is a relaxed elegance about this beachy pearl necklace. It has stacked freshwater pearls interspersed by natural fibre discs and finished with polished shell beads. The colours are soft and complimentary with notes of summer and warmth.
The necklace is handmade by artisans in Papua New Guinea. The little puffed fibre discs are made with a traditional bilum weaving technique which is a knotless weave using a single needle. The fibre itself is made from local plants, dried in the sun, pulled and rolled into a continuous string.
The necklace is 43cm long with a t-bar toggle clasp. To see more of this style, check out our range from Bilum & Bilas.
