Large hoop earrings from Australia with the warm ochre colours of our country.
A collaboration between an Australian indigenous art centre and an Australian designer has resulted in these vibrant hoop earrings in anodised aluminium and sterling silver.
Lisa Engeman creates her contemporary and unique Australian jewellery using licensed artwork produced by Warlukurlangu aboriginal artists.
The artwork for these coloured hoop earrings is done by Melissa Nungarrayi Larry. Her painting depicts Yumari Dreaming, which refers to a collection of rocks in the Gibson Desert, a site of a forbidden love union. The earrings will come with a little signature card on the artist.
Lisa uses a special technique of anodising aluminium and then handcrafting and detailing the piece with sterling silver tips creating a unique pair of Australian sterling silver hoop earrings.
The hoops are 8mm wide at the top and tapers in slightly to 4mm at the end. Both ends have a sterling silver cap and the inside of the hoops is a beautiful yellow, almost mustard colour.
These large hoop earrings are extremely light, only a few grammes, so very comfortable to wear.
