A little piece of Australian wearable art.
This sterling silver bangle has a photo-anodised aluminium piece depicting part of a Water Dreaming painting by Julie Nangala Robertson. The bangle is made by Lisa Engeman from Occulture who produces anodised aluminium and silver jewellery with licensed Aboriginal art.
Julie’s painting is on a site at Mt Farewell in the Northern Territory. Here two rainmakers sang the rain, unleashing a giant storm that collided with another storm. A brown falcon carried the storm further west and across the country but when the storm eventually became too heavy for the falcon, it dropped the storm at Pirlinyarnu, creating a large lake. Whenever it rains today, hundreds of bush ducks still flock to Pirlinyarnu.
This Australian bangle is a medium fit with an internal circumference of 20cm. The aluminium insert is 10mm wide and the bangle is very lightweight.
